About Mike


Mike is an accomplished marketing strategist, consultant and professor, respected in industry and in academia, who applies more than 20 years of expertise to communicate practical solutions for complex marketing and sales strategy challenges, whether for mid-sized organizations or Fortune 500 enterprises.

An entrepreneurial marketing & sales professional with 20 years in Fortune 500 leadership, Mike has a track record of first-ever accomplishments as marketing strategist in high-tech, fast-paced environments, an award-winner for new product development and innovation. Mike helps his clients skillfully align business objectives with marketing strategy and technology, creating strategic and tactical directions by providing actionable, specific answers to narrow business questions.

Mike is at ease promoting his common sense advice to corporate executives and organizational leaders, assisting them in communicating their key messages to their customers or how to acquire new customers and insights through cost-effective, innovative research methods.

Mike possesses a B.S. in Finance from Indiana University-Bloomington, an M.A. in International Business from the Patterson School of International Commerce, and pursued Ph.D studies in Economics. Mike’s experience includes extensive work in marketing strategy for Fortune 500 firms, as well as brand management, customer loyalty, new product development, and CRM. His credentials include extensive training in multivariate analysis, market segmentation, brand positioning/pricing, and focus group moderation, as well as possessing credentials from the Burke Institute and the Cambridge Associates as a Certified Focus Group Director (CFGD) with proficiency in conducting qualitative marketing research.

Mike teaches Marketing courses in the Gatton School of Business & Economics at the University of Kentucky. Mike has taught over 15 years in a variety of college settings, leading courses in the fields of Advertising, Consumer Behavior, Customer Service, International Business, Marketing Management, Marketing Research, and Sales Management. He is a guest speaker at the Gatton School MBA Program, and has served on the Board of Advisors for the Sullivan University School of Business.
